Education

Hylton-Potts - London Based Law Firm Helping People Across the UK since 1999

If your child has failed to get into a school of your choice we can help. The school that your child attends is very important to you, and an Appeal represents your one and only chance to secure a place. If this opportunity is lost the outcome for you and your child could be very considerable.

The decision of the Appeal Panel will depend on the evidence presented by both sides. The .pdf document attached to this page gives you guidance, but many parents decide to invest in legal help to guide them through the Department for Education and Skills appeal process.

We offer highly competitive fixed fees to help either with written submissions or representation at the Appeal. If the Appeal fails, an application to the Court is also a possibility. We operate a free and confidential 24 hour legal help line. Just click on [email protected]. Also a free and confidential office hour telephone line 020 7381 8111.

The right of appeal is set out in a document called the Admission Appeals Code.   – http://www.education-advisors.com/resource/school-admissions-appeals-code/.  It is worth having a read of this now to familiarise yourself with it.  The admission authority must allow at least 20 school days from the date they told you about your school place for you to appeal.  Therefore, you have this month to make your decision.
